Josapar is a food products company. It is among the ten largest food companies in Brazil and processes more than 486 thousand tons of grains per year.
Among Josapar's brands, we can mention: Tio João, Suprasoy, Meu Biju, and Supremo. The company also has the Soy+ brand, with products aimed at lactose intolerant individuals, as well as some regional brands such as: Nikkoh, Beleza, Tio Mingote, No Ponto, Pedrinho, and Bataclan.
Originating from the state of Rio Grande do Sul, currently, the company's brands are available at points of sale throughout Brazil. In addition, its products are exported to more than 40 countries.

By exporting to so many countries and having its products available throughout Brazil, Josapar is one of the largest suppliers to the Brazilian retail network.
To ensure that products reach customers as quickly as possible, Josapar has industrial units in: Pelotas (RS), Itaqui (RS), Campo Largo (PR), and Recife (PE);
The company also has distribution branches in various regions of the country, such as Tatuí (SP), Rio de Janeiro (RJ), Belém (PA), São Luís (MA), Salvador (BA), Fortaleza (CE), Belo Horizonte (MG), and Brasília (DF).
Its infrastructure of silos in storage and drying units is located in: Pelotas (RS), Itaqui (RS), Santa Vitória (RS), and Dom Pedrito (RS).
Josapar was founded in 1922 in Rio Grande do Sul. However, the company's history began in 1911, when the Portuguese Joaquim Oliveira arrived in the city of Pelotas, in Rio Grande do Sul.

Joaquim arrived in Brazil at the age of 12, and in 1918 he opened his own warehouse for the production and sale of rice.
Later, Joaquim and his family opened a supermarket in Pelotas called Real. However, Joaquim died before the supermarket opened, in 1952.
Among the company's products, Tio João rice is considered the flagship. It was inspired by the American brand Uncle Ben. Tio João became popular in Brazil during the 1970s and became a sales leader in the national markets.
In 1988, the company went public, and in 1997 the Mercado Real chain was sold, and Josapar began to focus exclusively on rice production.
In addition to focusing on Tio João rice production, over time the company also created brands focused on various cuisines such as Italian, Indian, Thai, and Japanese.
Furthermore, Josapar offers parboiled, whole grain, and arborio rice types. It also has semi-prepared dishes, such as Greek rice. Since the typical Brazilian dish is rice and beans, the company created the Meu Biju brand with five varieties of beans: carioca, black, red, striped, and white.

As the company has a certain guarantee of results regarding rice and beans, it began to venture into soybean processing. Thus, the company developed soybean products to cater to people with lactose intolerance.
This is how the SupraSoy, Soy+, and Soy Plus products emerged. These are soy protein-based products, enriched with vitamins and minerals, that serve as an alternative for people who cannot consume cow's milk.
