Ecorodovias Infraestrutura e Logística S.A is a company that operates in the infrastructure sector, promoting road concessions. The company is responsible, through ten concessions, for approximately 850 km of Brazilian highways, which include regions in the Southeast, Northeast, Central-West, and South of Brazil.
Currently, the company ranks as one of the main infrastructure institutions in the country, employing 6,000 employees and operating in a port terminal across 8 states.
Among the 10 concessions that the company holds, the most notable ones for their importance are: the Ayrton Senna-Carvalho Pinto Corridor, the Anchieta-Imigrantes System, and the North Ring Road (São Paulo); the Rio-Niterói Bridge and the Minas Gerais Goiás Highway Concessionaire.
The company constitutes an extremely important part of the Brazilian economy, as it is part of the Latin America export corridor, in addition to enhancing the tourist region of Baixada Santista and Latin America exports.
In 2010, Ecorodovias' common shares (ECOR3) entered the Brazilian Stock Exchange as part of the Novo Mercado, the highest level of corporate governance at B3. Furthermore, the following year, the company became part of the Corporate Sustainability Index (ISE) of the Stock Exchange.
The company's controlling shareholder is Primav, an Italian company, which in turn is controlled by the CR Almeida group. The company's operations occur through intermodal logistics, that is, concessions in roads, customs warehouses, backup areas, port terminals, distribution centers, among others.
In addition, the company also operates in companies that are secondarily linked to the activities that Ecorodovias develops. The company operates in 3 different segments, namely: highway concessionaires, logistics, and services.
The history of Ecorodovias began in 1997 with Primav Construções e Comércio LTDA, part of the CR Almeida Group, a company with over 50 years of experience in the construction sector and responsible for important infrastructure projects in Brazil.
Starting in 1998, the company began to include the participation of the European company Impregilo International N.V, the largest publicly traded construction company in Italy. In 2013, the Italian company sold its shareholding in Ecorodovias, and in May 2016, the Gavil Group became part of the controlling group of the Brazilian company.
Still in 2016, the company ceased investing in the logistics sector and began to focus on road concessions. Currently, Ecorodovias is one of the main infrastructure companies in Brazil, employing approximately 3,700 employees, holding 10 road concessions, in addition to a port terminal operating in 8 states.
