Movida is a company focused on the vehicle rental segment. Although this category (Rent a Car – RAC) is the main one, the company also operates in Fleet Management and Outsourcing (GTF) and in the sale of pre-owned vehicles.
In general, the company is considered one of the largest vehicle rental companies in Brazil in terms of fleet size and revenue, among other companies in the same sector.

Business Lines

Movida's history began in 2006, when it was founded in the city of São Paulo. After more than six years of business development and expansion, the company reached an important milestone of 2,400 cars available at 29 service locations.
Given its success and growth potential, the company was acquired by the JSL group, in 2013. To give you an idea, the group is considered the largest inbound logistics company in the automotive sector, with extensive expertise in purchasing and selling with the leading automakers.
With the intention of increasing its car fleet several years before carrying out its IPO, the group made significant investments in Movida. Accordingly, by 2014, the company already had a total of 36,875 cars at 82 service locations.
At the time, the company brought innovation to the rental market by offering new, colorful models equipped with apps, air conditioning, and other accessories.

As a result, Movida became, in 2015, the second-largest player in the segment. In addition, the company added the Premium car category to its portfolio and ended the year with impressive figures: 52,723 cars and 179 stores nationwide.
Also in 2015, the company launched the Movida app and the Movida Express, offering pickup and drop-off in the VIP area of the parking lot at Congonhas Airport in São Paulo. In 2016, after forming partnerships, Movida expanded its store network, exceeding 240 stores at the time.
In 2017, Movida's landmark and pivotal IPO took place, raising more than R$645 million and allowing the company's shares to be traded on the Novo Mercado listing segment under the trading code MOVI3.

In 2018, the company created i-move, transforming Movida into Brazil's only multimodal mobility platform offering electric bicycles and trikkes. In addition, it reached a fleet of 92,875 cars and also implemented a new visual identity for Seminovos Movida.
More recently, in 2020, Movida received its “B Corp” certification and became the second publicly traded company in Brazil to earn this important designation. As a result, the company became part of a global network of companies and organizations committed to linking economic growth to social and environmental well-being while returning value to shareholders.
