Monteiro Aranha is a holding company. Therefore, it has equity participation in other companies. Currently, it has stakes in Klabin, Ultra, and the real estate sector.
Klabin
Klabin is the largest producer, exporter, and recycler of paper in Brazil. Thus, it is a leader in the market for paper and cardboard packaging, industrial bags, and corrugated cardboard packaging.
In addition, the company produces and sells timber in logs. In summary, Klabin was founded in 1899 by the Klabin and Lafer families, under the name Klabin Irmãos & Cia.

In the 1920s, Klabin had already established itself among the largest paper producers in Brazil. It has always stood out for its pursuit of innovation. Thus, the company's Research and Development area conducts studies on soil, fertilization, genetic improvement, and environmental management.
For example, in 1934, the company founded Klabin do Paraná, which was Brazil's first integrated pulp and paper mill. Additionally, it was the first to produce short-fiber eucalyptus pulp with 100% certified raw material.
Klabin also stands out for its respect for the environment, as it has a culture of sustainable development.
For example, in 1943, the company began its first reforestation experiments, and currently, it maintains 220,000 hectares of planted forests of pine and eucalyptus, in addition to 188,000 hectares of native forests.
Moreover, the company sponsors several ecological and preservation projects, focusing on environmental education, waste recycling, sanitary landfills, among others.
