Officially created in 2020, the story behind the generation of Simpar goes back much further, with the founding of Transportadora Julio Simões Ltda in 1956, after Julio Simões began transporting horticultural products by acquiring his first truck. Still in the same year, Julio Simões also started transporting materials for the paper and pulp industry. Within a few years, the company made its first acquisition after buying Transcofer. With significant growth during the 1970s, the company already had 42 trucks in its fleet.
By the end of the 1980s, the company also began operating in the light vehicle rental segment and in the transportation of employees.
During the 2000s, JSL began to operate in other segments, such as forestry operations and movements in its clients' industrial units. Years later, in 2006, the Instituto Julio Simões was created, operating as an enhancer of all social actions promoted by the company's founder. Subsequently, all operations with the public sector were consolidated in CS Brasil in 2009. The following year, the company went public.
In the following years, JSL underwent several transformations, such as in 2011, when it acquired the largest company in the food transportation and storage segment with temperature control in Brazil, Rodoviário Schio, expanding its logistics services. In 2013, JSL Leasing was created; and in the first months of 2014, Movida, with a fleet of 2,400 vehicles and 29 stores across the country, was acquired. VAMOS was also created in 2015, which began operating in the rental of heavy vehicles, an activity that JSL itself had been performing since 1990.
In 2017, Movida's IPO took place. In 2019, undergoing a new transformation in its brand, JSL Leasing changed its name to BBC Leasing.
In 2020, SIMPAR was created, aiming to develop Holding activities that were previously conducted by JSL, consolidating equity stakes and corporate teams to develop new businesses.
