Eletrobrás Participações S.A. – Eletropar is a Brazilian company that operates in the electric sector. Its controlling entity is Eletrobrás – Centrais Elétricas Brasileiras S.A., one of the largest electric companies in Brazil.
The company was created on January 29, 1996, by Law No. 9,163 of December 15, 1995, due to the spin-off from Light – Serviços de Eletricidade S.A., which is headquartered in the city of Rio de Janeiro and has as its corporate purpose the equity participation in electric energy companies and other societies.

The administration of Eletropar is conducted by the Board of Directors and an Executive Board, with responsibilities described in its bylaws.
It is the responsibility of the Board of Directors to set the general direction of Eletropar's business, the superior control of approved programs, and the verification of achieved results.
The Executive Board is the executive body for administration and representation. Thus, it is responsible for ensuring the operation of Eletropar, within the guidelines established by the General Assembly and the Board of Directors.
In short, the Executive Board is composed of:
Chairman: He is responsible for guiding the administrative policy and representation of Eletropar.
Financial, Management, and Investor Relations Director: He must propose and monitor the implementation of measures that promote business excellence and align Eletropar with best management practices.
As previously mentioned, Eletropar is controlled by Centrais Elétricas Brasileiras S.A. – Eletrobrás, linked to the Ministry of Mines and Energy, which has as its main corporate purpose the participation in the share capital of Eletropaulo – Eletricidade de São Paulo S.A. and other societies.

Eletrobrás holds ⅓ of all energy production in Brazil and some businesses abroad. Furthermore, among the electric supply lines in Brazil, 89% is under Eletrobrás's control.
As a way to create sustainable means of producing and transmitting electric energy, about 96% of the company's installed capacity is focused on low emissions of gases that affect the greenhouse effect.

Eletropar is a mixed-economy corporation, publicly traded since 1996. Eletropar is controlled by Eletrobrás, which is a holding company specialized in the electric energy segment.
The history of Eletrobrás began in 1961, when then-president Jânio Quadros signed a law authorizing the construction of the company.
Eletrobrás was officially established on June 11, 1962, and was responsible for fulfilling various determinations that were part of the company's operational processes.
Among the company's responsibilities was to promote studies, construction projects, and operation of electric energy generating plants.

Additionally, Eletrobrás was also responsible for managing the transmission lines and electric substations in Brazil.
Currently, Eletrobrás operates in the production, transmission, and commercialization of electric energy through the subsidiaries it controls.
