Alupar Investimento S.A. is a holding company that operates in the electricity transmission and generation segments, both domestically and abroad (Colombia and Peru).
The company has private national control and its main objective is to implement and operate in the electricity sector, in addition to Brazil, in countries that present institutional, regulatory, and economic stability.

Among the segments in which it operates, Alupar is classified as one of the largest companies in the electricity transmission segment in Brazil when it comes to Allowed Annual Revenue (RAP). In addition, the company's control is 100% private.
Alupar's generation and transmission of electricity is carried out through the concession of 30 transmission systems. In numbers, this means that the company holds 7,929 km of transmission lines, located both in Brazil and a lifetime concession in Colombia in the transmission segment.
The total transmission lines operate through concessions, established for a period of 30 years. The generation of electricity has been part of the company's portfolio since 2005, where the company operates with:
Hydroelectric Plants (UHEs);
Small Hydroelectric Plants (PCHs);
Wind farms.
In the electricity generation segment, the company has 687.0 MW of installed capacity. The generation and transmission of electricity result from 3 UHEs, 1 wind farm, and 4 PCHs, totaling 580.0 MW. The remainder of the installed capacity refers to hydraulic source generation projects.
In addition to the generation and transmission assets in Brazil, Alupar also operates in Latin American countries such as Colombia and Peru. In Colombia, the company operates through Risaralda (PCH Morro Azul), as well as through Transmissora Colombiana de Energia S.A.S. In Peru, Alupar's operations occur through the La Virgen Hydroelectric Plant, where its presence in Latin America is notable.

Alupar was established in 2007 as a privately controlled holding company. Once formed, the company underwent a corporate reorganization process, including investments and significant acquisitions, and thus began to hold the shares that were controlled by the Controlling Group.

The shares, which were acquired between July and December 2017, were from companies in the transmission and generation segments, such as: EATE, ECTE, ENTE, ERTE, ETEP, ETES, Lumitrans, STC, STN, Transirapé, Transleste, and Transudeste, as well as from companies in the generation segment, including: Foz do Rio Claro, Ijuí, Queluz, and Lavrinhas.
Shortly thereafter, the company also granted concessions for generation and transmission of electricity with the companies: EBTE, ESDE, ETEM, ETVG, TME, TNE, ETSE, Ferreira Gomes, and Energia dos Ventos. A large part of the contracts were made through auctions organized by ANEEL. Additionally, between 2008 and 2011, Alupar received authorization for the implementation of PCH Morro Azul in Colombia.
In 2013, Alupar participated in auctions organized by ANEEL, but this time to sell electricity from PCHs Verde 08 and Antônio Dias, with 30.0 MW and 23 MW respectively. Still in 2013, the company conducted a public offering (IPO), where the proceeds from the offering were used for new ventures.
In 2018, Lot “O” of Eletrobras Auction No. 01/2018 was acquired by one of Alupar's subsidiaries. Finally, in 2019, the company achieved a net profit of R$ 1.6 billion. From then on, it began to be considered one of the largest companies in terms of Allowed Annual Revenue.
