The story of GetNinjas began in 2010 when Eduardo L’Hotellier wanted to hire a professional's service and faced many difficulties. Thus, he had the idea to enter the technology market, focusing on marketplaces.
He developed three different prototypes, which included a crowdfunding website, a platform for renting collective buying sites, and the GetNinjas prototype, in a version made only for lawyers.
In 2011, the operation of GetNinjas began, an online platform that connects professionals from different areas to clients looking for specific service providers quickly and conveniently.

Throughout its expansion and consolidation process, GetNinjas was mentioned by Google in 2013 as one of the most promising and amazing Brazilian companies.
Confirming this status, in 2017 GetNinjas was named by Forbes Brasil as one of the Brazilian companies with the most market potential. By 2018, the company would be recognized in a ranking of 100 standout startups in the market, promoted by business sector magazines.
