The history of the Randon conglomerate began in 1949 when Hercílio and Raul Randon decided to open a workshop specialized in the refurbishment of industrial engines. Initially, both brothers worked in the manufacturing of agricultural tools. Subsequently, the workshop transformed into Mecânica Randon Ltda.

From the foundation of the workshop, the brothers began to manufacture air brakes used in trailers. At that time, manufacturing was focused on developing tools that would contribute to the steep slopes found in the Serra Gaúcha. Additionally, the mechanics also began to manufacture the 3rd axle for trucks in the region.
In 1960, Mecânica Rondon began manufacturing the first semi-trailers. Another part of the manufacturing processes was the balance suspension, which allowed for an increase in the company's production capacity. Thus, Randon's growth went hand in hand with the country's growth, which was undergoing industrialization.
In the 1970s, the Randon brothers traveled to Europe and discovered how the transportation sector had the potential to grow, especially in Brazil. Thus, they decided to open a new factory, much larger than the previous one, with 40,000 square meters of built area.

In the same decade, Randon went public on the stock exchange to expand the company's production and operational processes. Additionally, it began manufacturing off-road vehicles through Randon Veículos. From this point, the company became the first manufacturer of motor vehicles in the southern part of the country. To complete the decade, the company began operations abroad.
By 1980, Randon began the diversification process by founding Freios Master – a joint venture with the American company ArvinMeritor, as well as founding the Randon Consortia Administrator. Still as part of the diversification, Randon incorporated Fras-le and founded Randon Argentina, in addition to JOST Brasil.
With the arrival of the 2000s, Randon was already recognized as a global reference. It had, in addition to national prestige, world-class strategic partners on all continents. Besides partnerships, the company also began exporting to various countries, increasing the recognition of the Randon brand.
In 2009, Randon completed 60 years of history. Over the years, the company made more acquisitions, becoming a leader in the Brazilian market for manufacturing suspension systems, especially for large vehicles. Finally, one of the company's latest acquisitions was Randon Araraquara, located in São Paulo.
