Irani Celulose is a Brazilian company in the packaging sector, producing paper for packaging and corrugated cardboard packaging. The company originated in 1941, when it was inaugurated in the city of Porto Alegre, the company's headquarters.

Currently, it is among the four largest companies in the segment in Brazil, also being a reference in sustainability. In this regard, the manufactured products come from a 100% renewable and 100% recyclable forest base.

Irani Celulose is present in the states of Minas Gerais, São Paulo, Santa Catarina, and Rio Grande do Sul, and its units operate its business model based on four pillars: forestry, paper, packaging, and resin.

The boxes and sheets produced are made from kraft, white, and recycled papers of various grammages and with excellent performance. The corrugated cardboard sheets in single and double waves have a rigorous quality control and technical support.

In addition, the customized projects are exclusive to each product, aiming to ensure better productive performance and also promote the optimization of the logistics chain.

Irani was founded in 1941, in the city of Porto Alegre, and even during its early years, the company's mission was to expand and seek some consolidation in the market. After some time, in the early 1970s, the company became publicly traded, being listed on B3 in 1977.

An important milestone for the company, the 1990s brought a process of corporate restructuring and acquisitions. In 1997, however, Irani Celulose entered the corrugated cardboard production market.

The 2000s began with significant investments made by the company in the segments of paper for packaging and corrugated cardboard packaging, and in 2005, the inauguration of the cogeneration plant took place at the paper packaging factory in Vargem Bonita (SC). This project, however, made Irani the first company in the paper and packaging sector in Brazil to generate carbon credits under the Kyoto Protocol.

In 2007, there was a major project that heavily invested in infrastructure and ways to consolidate the company in the market. In 2011, Iraflor Comércio de Madeira Ltda was established, a subsidiary that carried out operations for the management and commercialization of wood for the company and the market.

Continuing its expansion process, Irani Celulose began operating in Minas Gerais after acquiring a paper factory in the city of Santa Luzia. In 2014, however, there was a consolidation process of operations at this factory, which operated in total sync with the company's other operations.

The following years were marked by investments made to ensure the maintenance and improvement of machinery, as well as targeted initiatives for reforestation and improvements to the company's physical structures.

Recently, in 2020, the company changed its corporate name, becoming known as Irani Papel e Embalagem S.A., as a way to better reflect the activities performed by the company, as well as to assist the company's entry into the Novo Mercado segment of B3.
