Rumo S.A. is a railway and logistics company in Brazil that currently holds the position of the largest logistics operator among companies in the same sector in Latin America. The company is controlled by Cosan Logística and has concessions for port terminal and railway services through the operation of 10 companies, including its own affiliates and controlling companies.

The company's operations are focused on the provision of railway services, distributed over 13.4 km of lines, where it operates through four port elevation services. The company's main transportation is focused on grains, about 75%, which are taken to the main commodity ports in Brazil: Santos, Paranaguá, and São Francisco.
In addition, the company has five railway concessions, namely: Malha Paulista, Malha Norte, Malha Sul, Malha Oeste, and Malha Central, formerly known as Ferrovia Norte-Sul. The concessions also extend over other states, such as São Paulo and Tocantins, as well as the Midwest and Southern regions.
Also as part of the provision of services focused on port elevation, Rumo is present at the Port of Santos/SP, through the controlling company Elevações Portuárias S.A. Among the main services offered by the company are:
Railway Transportation;
Terminal and Storage Operations;
Opportunities Panel;
Container Logistics.

Rumo became part of the Novo Mercado, the highest level of corporate governance of the Brazilian Stock Exchange, in 2015, as soon as the shares of América Latina Logística (ALL) were incorporated by the company. As a result, the company began to issue only common shares and started to disclose the results of the financial statements under GAAP or IFRS standards.
Furthermore, Rumo is also part of the Bovespa Index, where the theoretical portfolio of shares represents 80% of the transactions conducted in the Stock Exchange environment. Shareholders who invest in common shares, in addition to participating in meetings with voting rights, also have the right to receive dividends and distributions.
Rumo S.A. is a railway and logistics company in Brazil formed by the merger between Rumo Logística and América Latina Logística (ALL). Therefore, the history of both companies began in 1999, when ALL was founded.
ALL went public in 2004 and, two years later, acquired Brasil Ferrovias. Later, in 2010, the company joined the Novo Mercado, the highest level of governance at B3.

On the other hand, Rumo, founded as a subsidiary of Cosan in 2008, was born as a company primarily focused on sugar export. The proposal for the merger of both companies then emerged in 2014, with the process being completed only in 2015. With the merger, the company experienced a considerable increase in capital between 2016 and 2017.
Still in 2015, when the merger process of both companies was completed, Rumo obtained, through the exchange of shares, an additional 13,000 km in the railway network, as well as 966 locomotives, with about 28,000 wagons and 19 million tons of lifting capacity at the Port of Santos.
Currently, the company ranks as the largest in the logistics segment of the country's railway system. The company's assets include the North, South, West, and Paulistana networks, as well as part of the Central network, formerly known as Ferrovia Norte-Sul.

Currently, Rumo has 12 transshipment terminals, which together have the capacity to store approximately 900 tons of grains. In addition, the company has stakes in 6 port terminals, as well as 1 in the Port of Paranaguá and 5 terminals in the Port of Santos.
