Raia Drogasil is a pharmacy chain that emerged from the merger of two major players in the pharmaceutical retail sector, Droga Raia and Drogasil. Specializing in pharmacies, Raia Drogasil is a market leader in its field, present in 23 Brazilian states, with over 2,100 stores.

Initially, the pharmacy chain was established as a corporation in 2011. In addition to the pharmacy chains, Raia Drogasil also works with services and exclusive brands. Its main retail activity is the sale of medications, as well as hygiene products, perfumery, and cosmetics.
In addition to the products sold under the Drogasil and Droga Raia brands, as well as Drogaria Onofre, the Company also offers services through private labels, such as B-Well, Le Pop, Caratech, Needs, Triss, and Nutrigood.

In the national pharmaceutical market, Raia Drogasil has 97% of its sales through physical stores and its own sales platforms. Additionally, it operates in the services sector with 4Bio Medicamentos Especiais and Univers.
In general, the first activity that initiated Raia Drogasil's business was the founding of Pharmacia Raia in 1905. A few years later, in 1935, Drogasil was established through the merger of the pharmacies Bráulio and Brasil. Only in 2011 did the two retailers merge, totaling, together, 200 years of history.
Raia Drogasil was founded in 2011, from the merger of two major companies: Drogasil and Droga Raia. However, the history of both companies, before forming what they are today, goes back much further, about 200 years of trajectory.

This is because the story begins with the founding of Raia pharmacy in 1905. It was founded by pharmacist João Batista in Araraquara and quickly expanded to other Brazilian cities. Later, in 1935, Drogasil emerged – through the merger of the pharmacies Bráulio and Brasil.
In other words, Raia Drogasil emerged from the merger of two major players in the pharmaceutical market that, shortly after their founding, began the process of expansion to other Brazilian states, beyond São Paulo and Rio de Janeiro.

Over the years, both pharmacies developed mechanisms and means to enable growth. Among the methods identified are the various acquisitions made by both companies of other pharmacies that contributed to growth in the pharmaceutical retail sector.
