Compass Gás & Energia, a company belonging to the Grupo Cosan, engages in activities in the natural gas and energy sector, focusing its efforts on four strategic points, which are:
Natural gas distribution through Comgás, the largest piped gas company in the country, serving over 2.1 million customers across more than 19,000 kilometers of installed network.
Infrastructure and gas origination, through the supply of pre-salt gas and the import of liquefied natural gas – LNG;
Marketing, diversifying its supply and demand portfolio;
Thermal generation using gas and trading of electric energy, aiming to transform the use of gas into electricity.
Today, the company is present in 94 municipalities in the state of São Paulo, being responsible for 32% of the gas distributed and piped in the country.
Founded in March 2020 by the Cosan group, Compass Gás e Energia emerges to operate in four segments of the Natural Gas sector.
The Company, shortly after its launch, already had two projects in the licensing phase in the infrastructure area, namely Rota 4, a pipeline for gas transportation, which focuses on transporting natural gas from the pre-salt to the mainland, and the Liquefied Natural Gas Import Terminal on the São Paulo coast.
In the area of gas distribution, Compass has already started its activities holding the Comgás concession, which had over 2 million customers.
Regarding gas marketing, Compass already had the activities of Compass Comercializadora, operating for more than 10 years in the free electricity market.
