OSX Brasil is a company that operates in the areas of shipbuilding, leasing, and operational services for ships.
Originally, it operated in the supply of equipment and services for the offshore Oil and Natural Gas industry.

Currently, the company is exploring strategic areas of its shipyard located at the Superporto de Açu, situated in the north of the State of Rio de Janeiro.
It is approximately 150 km from the Campos Basin and has a total area of 3.2 million m².
OSX Brasil was founded on October 30, 2009, by Eike Batista. Its IPO was on March 22 of the following year. It is part of the Novo Mercado, the highest level of governance on the stock exchange.
OSX Brasil was responsible for the operation and maintenance of chartered units, the FPSO OSX-1 and OSX-3, which operated for the then OXG Petróleo e Gás and is now known as Dommo Energia S.A.

The year 2013 was challenging for OSX Brasil, as it faced a worsening of its financial situation, which included the cancellation of orders for units that were to be built, both at the Açu Shipbuilding Unit (UCN Açu) and at contracted shipyards.
There was also the cancellation of chartering and operation and maintenance contracts for FPSOs and WHPs.
Due to the company's situational context, which prevented it from honoring payments of overdue obligations and short-term debts, OSX Brasil filed for bankruptcy protection on November 11, 2013, in the Capital District of the State of Rio de Janeiro.
The request was made jointly with its subsidiaries OXS Construção Naval S.A and OSX Serviços Operacionais Ltda.
The presentation of the bankruptcy recovery plans by the company and its subsidiaries took place on May 16, 2014, before the Court of the 3rd Business Court of the District of Rio de Janeiro.
The plans were approved in a General Meeting of Creditors on December 17, 2014, and ratified by the bankruptcy court on January 8, 2015.

Finally, on November 20, 2020, a decision was rendered in the proceedings of the company's bankruptcy recovery and its subsidiaries, declaring the closure of the bankruptcy recovery, as the overdue obligations had been fulfilled.
