Minupar is a company whose main corporate purpose consists of participating in the capital of other companies. In other words, it is a holding company based in the city of Lajeado, in Rio Grande do Sul.
Currently, it primarily operates in segments related to refrigeration activities, that is, the production of industrialized meat-based products.

Thus, the main activities carried out by the company today are in the following segments:
Services in the refrigeration sector;
Outsourced slaughter services;
Production of industrialized meat-based products;
Deboning and industrialization of meats and poultry.
Minupar controls Companhia Minuano de Alimentos, which focuses on poultry production with the slaughter and processing of chicken meat. Additionally, it produces various industrialized products in this sector.
Minuano Alimentos, with products under the Minu brand, targets its audience primarily in the southern states of Brazil. In the national market, Minupar operates through Minuano Alimentos.
However, it also has an international presence, as it exports products to Africa, Central America, Asia, and Eastern Europe. The exporting brands in the foreign market are:
An important detail is that a considerable part of the company's revenue derives from a contract for the provision of poultry slaughter services, regulated and active with another company in the sector.

This company activity involves the production of eggs, day-old chicks, feed, chicken slaughter, and industrial processing of chicken meat.
This operation is possible because the company has an agro-industrial complex in the region of its network, in the city of Lajeado.
The necessary facilities for this operation include a rearing farm, a production farm, an incubator, a feed industry, and a poultry slaughterhouse.
Minupar was founded in 1984 under the name Minuano – Exportação, Participação e Administração Ltda. Thus, it was a controlling holding company focused on the trade and export of food products.
In 1990, through the approval of an extraordinary general assembly, the company changed its name to Minupar Participações S.A. Because of this change, the shareholders of the then Minuano had the right to exchange their shares for Minupar's shares.

Nowadays, the holding company focuses on shareholding in other companies in the group. However, indirectly, its corporate purpose is related to the food sector.
This is because Minupar controls Companhia Minuano de Alimentos, which is dedicated to poultry production with the slaughter and processing of chicken meat, as well as the production of various industrialized products in this sector.
With the change made in the company's structure and corporate purpose, Minupar went public on the stock exchange in 1990. Thus, since 1990, the company's shares have been traded on the stock exchange, meaning more than 3 decades of presence on the exchange.
As the company is part of the food sector, it is included in the non-cyclical consumer sector. This means that the company tends to be less affected by economic cycles, as demand generally remains stable.

In 2017 and 2018, Minupar showed a slight increase in its net revenue. This was the result of an increase in the provision of services to third parties and industrialized products.
In 2020, Minupar announced its intention to close its capital, and in 2021 it communicated the details of the closure. The auction for the acquisition of shares took place in March, but the company was unable to secure enough shares to close its capital.
