Marfrig is a holding company in the food sector, a global leader in hamburger production and one of the largest companies that trade beef protein in the world, in terms of capacity.
Founded in 2000, the company is present in more than 100 countries. Thus, there are about 30,000 employees distributed across 21 production units, 10 commercial and distribution centers on four continents.

The company has most of its operations concentrated in North America and South America. Thus, Marfrig processes and debones beef cattle in countries such as the United States, Brazil, Uruguay, and Argentina.
In 2007, the company went public on the São Paulo Stock Exchange, starting the trading of shares. The following years were marked by acquisitions of companies in the food sector, giving greater credibility to Marfrig's operations.
Marfrig's history begins in 2000, with an operation in Bataguassu, in the state of Mato Grosso do Sul. From there, the company's expansion occurred, first to the states of São Paulo and Mato Grosso.
In 2006, the company purchased several beef processing units in Goiás, Rio Grande do Sul, and Rondônia. It was also in this same year that the company began operations on the continent, in countries such as Argentina, Chile, and Uruguay.

In 2007, Marfrig went public and entered the Novo Mercado of the São Paulo Stock Exchange. The company's expansion continued in the following years, and in 2010, the company acquired Keystone Foods, a global company in the distribution of products derived from animal protein to fast food chains.
The following years marked the company's entry into the pork export market to China, a major global market, and the creation of the Seara Foods brand, a company active in the animal processing sector.

Currently, Marfrig has been renamed Marfrig Global Foods SA, continuing the brand's expansion to consolidate its position as one of the leaders in the beef protein and hamburger marketing sector.
