Segmented into 14 business units, Multilaser, traditionally categorized as a consumer electronics and IT company, is present with products in various other areas, such as: technology, mobile phones, telecommunications, tools, household items, sports equipment, health instruments, accessories and automotive products, electronic security, stationery, toys, beauty, and pets. Currently, it has 28 proprietary brands, 22 licensed brands, and 9 partner brands, which are distributed to more than 30,000 customers throughout Brazil, with over 44,000 physical sales points, and in virtual stores.
Currently employing more than 5,000 employees at an industrial complex in Extrema, Minas Gerais, the group also has a factory in the Free Trade Zone in Manaus, AM, and an engineering-focused laboratory in China.
Founded by Isreal Ostrowiecki, the company began its activities in 1987 focused on cartridge recycling and copier imports, which was its main area of operation until 2003, when Alexandre Ostrowiecki took over as president of the company, marking the beginning of a new era for the business.
In the following year, the first line of IT products was launched, which included the sale of mice, CDs, and DVDs. Subsequently, the company's portfolio expanded, which at that time included the launch of the electronics line, and in 2007, the factory in Extrema, Minas Gerais, was inaugurated.
In 2010, the company launched its first line of mobile phones, and in 2011 its first line of tablets. After the turn of the decade in 2010, the company debuted in new markets, launching its brands focused on sports and health products, Atrio, and Multikids Baby, focused on strollers and baby care. Brasil Componentes was also inaugurated for IT accessories and tools. In 2015, the Pulse brand was launched for audio and video products, and Multikids for children's products, such as toys.
In 2017, the acquisition of Giga Segurança, focused on security and computing, was completed, and in the following year, the company launched its health product line and Warrior Multi for gaming accessories in the market. The brands: Up Home, for home-related products, Power Tek, with IT products, and Keep, focused on stationery and office supplies, emerged in 2019.
In 2020, Multilaser began its partnership with HMD Brasil for the production, distribution, and commercialization of Nokia products, launching Nokia Brasil and Ultra in the market, with the latter focused on the corporate computer sector. In 2021, the company collaborated with the giant Toshiba and acquired Obabox. In the same year, the company also debuted on B3 after its IPO application.
