Habitasul is a Brazilian company listed on the stock exchange in the financial sector and in the real estate exploration segment. Thus, the company has a certain scope in its business, operating in:
1- Real estate business: The company develops urban projects in Rio Grande do Sul and Santa Catarina. The projects take into account the following pillars: comfort, safety, and connection with nature.

2- Provision of services: The company is responsible for the hotel management of IL Campanario Villaggio Resort and Jurerê Beach Villagem. In addition, the company also manages Jurerê Open Shopping.
3- Investments in other businesses: Habitasul has a stake in Irani Papel e Embalagem S.A. Irani is one of the leading companies in the segments of paper for packaging and corrugated cardboard packaging in Brazil.
Habitasul was founded in 1967 by Péricles de Freitas Druck. Headquartered in Porto Alegre, the company operates in Rio Grande do Sul, Santa Catarina, São Paulo, and Minas Gerais.
In 1980, the implementation of Jurerê Internacional occurred by the founder of the Habitasul Group, which revolutionized the projects of neighborhoods and seaside towns, with a masterplan where 80% of the space was residential and a central commercial axis, which is now Jurerê Open Shopping (managed by the Habitasul group) and a tourist development that is IL Campanario Resort (also under the management of the Habitasul group) and other integrated facilities.
At the time, one of the main highlights of the unprecedented concepts of the neighborhood was the elimination of a beachfront avenue with buildings. Instead, the project opted for a space called Passeio dos Namorados, which ensured the environmental preservation of the coastline.

In summary, the masterplan had four pillars of development for Jurerê Internacional:
Environmental (preservation of ecological heritage);
Cultural, sociological, and historical (preservation of archaeological heritage);
Physical (with infrastructure, sanitation, organization, and conservation of spaces);
Human dimension (community development, safety, amenities, coexistence, services, leisure, and commerce.
Over time, the Habitasul group, which was the developer of Jurerê Internacional, carried out a continuous process of review and updating of the masterplan. Thus, the development kept up with global trends in sustainable use of the coastline.
In 1994, Habitasul purchased Irani Papel e Embalagem. Headquartered in Porto Alegre and with facilities in RS, SC, SP, and MG, Irani is one of the leading companies in its sector.
Currently, the Habitasul group has very broad business operations, as it has three fronts: industrial sector (through Irani), real estate, and hospitality. In 2020, the Habitasul group launched its first Sustainability Report.
The aim is for this report to be published annually so that the public can stay informed about the practices adopted by the company and its sustainability strategies.
In addition to the Sustainability Report, Habitasul also launched its new website, repositioning the brand with the aim of strengthening its strategic planning and differentiators focused on the development of sustainable real estate projects in Rio Grande do Sul and Santa Catarina.

Finally, in 2021, the Habitasul group announced the sale of the Laje de Pedra hotel complex in Canela, in the Serra Gaúcha. The sale was made for R$ 52 million to LPD Canela Empreendimentos e Participações. The complex includes the brands: Laje de Pedra, Hotel Laje de Pedra, and HLP.
In 2020, during the Covid-19 pandemic, the Laje de Pedra hotel complex had to close its doors.
At the beginning of 2021, the Habitasul group announced its sale. The pandemic had a strong impact on the hotel complex; however, the development was already facing financial difficulties before that.
