3R Petroleum is a Brazilian oil company, focused on the production of oil and gas in onshore and shallow water assets. Currently, the company has scale both in Brazil and in other countries in Latin America.
The company uses a business plan based on two strands for the revitalization of mature onshore and shallow water fields. The first is organic growth, where 3R Petroleum revitalizes the current portfolio of mature assets acquired from Petrobras.

The second strand is based on inorganic growth, where the company focuses on opportunities linked to Petrobras's plan to sell mature assets.
The company began to establish these two points as its focus in 2019, after Petrobras stopped investing in portfolio assets that no longer align with its current focus.
Then, Petrobras began to focus on pre-salt assets, as the higher well productivity and lower extraction costs yield greater returns for the state-owned company.

The pillars that guide 3R Petroleum, which even gave the company its name, are “Redesenvelop, Revitalize and Rethink”. The oil company went public in 2020, listed in the Novo Mercado segment of B3, the highest level of corporate governance on the stock exchange.
Currently, the company ranks as the 3rd largest oil producer in Brazil, behind only Petrobras and Eneva.
The history of 3R Petroleum began shortly after Ouro Petro Óleo e Gás (OPOG) acquired a 35% stake in the shallow water fields of Pescada and Arabaiana in 2014. Later, OPOG was acquired by the Starboard fund and subsequently incorporated into 3R Petroleum.

In 2019, the newly founded company began its acquisition processes, primarily focused on the company's growth. The first acquisition made by the company was of Petrobras assets, where 3R Petroleum signed the purchase and sale agreement for the acquisition of the Macau Polo in the Potiguar Basin, located in Rio Grande do Norte.
In 2020, the year was marked by a series of acquisitions that were part of the company's growth strategy. The first acquisition made in 2020 concerns the remaining 65% of the assets of Pescada-Arabaiana, after signing an additional acquisition agreement.
In the same year, now in August 2020, 3R Petroleum signed, as a strategy to strengthen its market position in the Potiguar Basin, the purchase and sale agreement for the Fazenda Belém Polo. During the same period, the company also signed the purchase and sale agreement for the Rio Ventura Polo.

Finally, in December 2020, the company signed the purchase and sale agreement for the Recôncavo Polo, which, like the Rio Ventura Polo, is also located in the State of Bahia.
