It is located in the state of São Paulo, where it has industrial plants in the cities of Sorocaba and Guarulhos.

As the company primarily operates in the production of capital goods, the buyers who typically request Bardella's services are from the steel and aluminum sector, cargo handling, mining, and power plants.
In addition, the company also provides services for oil and gas industries, as well as for the manufacturing of drawn wire and rolled bars. As part of its activities, Bardella is the controlling entity of Barefame Instalações Industriais, in addition to Energo Agro Industrial Ltda.
Bardella also holds a majority control of Bardella Administração de Bens e Empresas and Corretora de Seguros. Furthermore, the company has stakes in Planihold S.A., Indústria Metalúrgica e Mecânica da Amazônia (IMMA), and Durafeno.
The history of Bardella began in 1911, when the company was founded by Antonio Bardella, still under the name “Officinas Bardella”. The installation of its first foundry occurred in 1916 and, in 1927, the company built its first overhead crane.

In 1942, the company went public and began trading shares on the Brazilian Stock Exchange. At the same time, it changed its corporate name to Bardella S.A. Indústrias Mecânicas. By 1970, the company started operations in the city of Guarulhos and, three years later, built a factory in Sorocaba.
With the onset of the 1980s, the company began developing large projects, such as the production of some of the largest overhead cranes in the world for the Itaipu Hydroelectric Plant, all with a capacity of one thousand tons. By 1986, various types of equipment were supplied to the Nuclear Plants of Angra 1 and 2.
In 2001, Bardella partnered with The Timken Company, a bearing manufacturer. In 2003, the manufacturing of equipment for Oil & Gas began. By 2007, a contract was signed with Siderúrgica do Atlântico for the supply of overhead cranes.

Two years later, in 2009, the contract for the supply of hydromechanical equipment for the Santo Antônio and Jirau hydroelectric plants was signed by Bardella. Finally, the company is listed on B3 with common shares (BDLL3) and preferred shares (BDLL4), as well as being in the fractional market, under the codes (BDLL3F and BDLL4F).
