RJ jobs
Years later, in 1997, entrepreneurs and partners Marcello Bastos and Katia Bastos created Farm. The brand was designed to express the vibrant colors of the city of Rio de Janeiro in the manufacturing of products, especially those related to clothing and accessories.
However, in 2010, both brands merged their businesses, thus creating Grupo Soma.
In 2014, the group acquired the brand Fábula, a company specialized in children's fashion; in addition to Brand, a brand known for contemporary themes.
The following year, the brand Foxton – specialized in men's fashion – strengthened Grupo Soma's portfolio, becoming the only brand in the Group to offer clothing and accessories for men.
In 2017, it was Cris Barros's turn to join Grupo Soma, becoming another luxury brand of the company.
In 2018, the group created Off Premium, a platform specialized in clearing the stock of collections manufactured by Grupo Soma.
Two years after the creation of Off Premium, Grupo Soma acquired the brand Maria Filó, a company specialized in the production of knitted products.
Finally, in April 2021, Grupo Soma announced the purchase of the competitor Hering, an important Brazilian fashion brand, for R$ 5.1 billion, transforming the group into the fourth largest company in the apparel sector in Brazil. Hering shareholders received R$ 9.63 per share and 1.62 shares of Grupo Soma after the merger.
