SLC Agrícola is a company in the agriculture segment, where it has a broad presence in the production of fibers and grains, focusing on the manufacture of soy, corn, and cotton. In addition, the company has become a leader in its segment after having shares traded on the Brazilian stock exchange.
The company is part of the SLC Group, created in 1945, as a workshop specialized in the maintenance of agricultural tools for farmers living near the company.
Currently, the group is classified as one of the largest in the agribusiness and agricultural machinery trade segments, operating through the companies SLC Agrícola and SLC Comercial.
The products sold by SLC Agrícola are produced in 16 units, strategically located in 6 different states. In total, the production units cover 404,479 hectares, where the company produces:
Corn;
Cotton;
Wheat;
1st crop corn;
Seed corn;
Sugarcane.
One of the differentiators of SLC Agrícola is the modern production system that features cutting-edge technology, where there is standardization of production units, in addition to strict control regarding socio-environmental issues.
The history of SLC Agrícola began in 1945, after three families of German immigrants decided to found a company specialized in the agricultural segment. The foundation of the Company, which belongs to the SLC Group, took place in the city of Horizontina, in Rio Grande do Sul.
A few years after its foundation, the company carried out its first joint venture in 1979. The agreement was made with John Deere, and thus, SLC Agrícola became a pioneer in implementing mechanized agriculture processes in Brazil.
In the 1980s, the company began its expansion process and started to implement crop planting after acquiring several farms. Thus, it became a leader in the agricultural segment by producing products such as soy, corn, and cotton.
Still a pioneer in its segment, in 2007, the company went public on Bovespa, becoming the first agricultural segment company to have shares offered on the stock exchange. A year later, in 2008, SLC Agrícola carried out its second share offering.
In 2013, as a way to expand production processes, the company completed another joint venture. This time, the contract was between the Dois Vales group and Mitsui, one of the largest business groups in Japan.
As part of the integration and expansion of production, in 2018, SLC Agrícola acquired 26,133 hectares in Chapadão do Sul. With the acquisition, the company began to call the land Fazenda Pantanal.
