Pettenati primarily operates in the manufacturing, marketing, and export of finished knitted fabrics and clothing articles. Its portfolio consists of a wide variety of dyed and printed fabrics.
The company's products are aimed at women's, men's, and children's fashion. Additionally, they cater to other categories such as activewear and loungewear.
With each collection, the company launches over 200 new products: solid fabrics, printed fabrics, jacquards with various types of construction, finishing, and yarn combinations.

Pettenati's production and distribution involve the support of over 2,000 employees, present in the company's 3 industrial units:
1- Headquarters: The headquarters of Pettenati is located in Caxias do Sul, in Rio Grande do Sul. It concentrates the administrative, commercial, creative activities, new product development, research, and high-performance finished garment manufacturing for international brands.
2- Fabric Factory: Pettenati carries out all stages of the production process: weaving, dyeing, printing, and finishing. This is advantageous as the company has a lower cost for the final product.
3- Central America: Pettenati Central America was inaugurated in 2008, in El Salvador. Through it, Pettenati consolidated its positioning in the international market.

Regarding sustainability, Pettenati has some initiatives in the development of advanced environmental technologies and innovations.
Recycled Cotton: Cotton fabric waste is separated and directed to the recycling cycle. After that, these fabrics are mechanically shredded and result in non-woven fibers. They then undergo a narrowing process to achieve a thickness similar to traditional cotton.
Recycled Polyester: Each year, Pettenati transforms over 10 million PET bottles into recycled polyester fabrics.
Better Cotton Initiative: The Better Cotton Initiative is an international non-profit organization based in Switzerland. In summary, its goal is to improve global cotton production for those who produce it, the environment in which it is grown, and the future of the sector.
Pettenati's activities began in 1964, and it went public in 1981. On the stock exchange, the company is within the cyclical consumer sector and in the subsector of textiles, clothing, and footwear; finally, its area of operation is in yarns and fabrics.

In 1971, the company began operating in the international market, exporting to several countries. Subsequently, in 2008, the company opened its branch in El Salvador, Pettenati Central America.
Throughout its history, Pettenati has been based on innovation by creating technological and market textile solutions in its area of operation.
An example of this is that Pettenati was a pioneer in the development of smart fabrics, applying new functionalities to fabrics through the analysis of different sports modalities.
To name these products, the concept P.E.T.® Performance Engineering Technology was created. Currently, the P.E.T. Dry® and P.E.T. Thermo® products are present in the main sports brands in Brazil and around the world.
Additionally, the company revolutionized the tactile appeal of fabrics through the SAND WASH® and CERAMIC MICROWASH® finishes. It also innovated by developing products such as PLUSH, SOFT BRUSH®, and FLEECE.

Finally, in addition to innovating its products, Pettenati also focused on innovating with environmental sustainability actions. For example, it developed the largest recycled polyester program for repurposing PET bottles in America.
