Focusing on investments in both domestic and international assets, PPLA Participações is a holding company managed by PPLA Investments. It was established as a limited liability company, with no definitive term. Its main areas of operation are:
Principal Investments: Real estate investments and Merchant Banking, as well as investments in the foreign market.
Private Equity: Investments in both closed and open capital companies that are not traded on stock exchanges.
Founded in March 2010 in Bermuda, PPLA Participações aims primarily to carry out investment transactions for PPLA Investments, which holds nearly the total amount of its shares.
In March 2010, PPLA began to control the majority of the Merchant Banking companies owned by the partners of Banco BTG. Consequently, consortium members began to acquire directly and indirectly class D shares of both PPLA Participações and PPLA Investments.
In 2011, a corporate restructuring of the companies controlled by PPLA Investments was approved by the Central Bank, which were transferred to Banco BTG Pactual. As a result, there is even more separation between the two institutions.
In the following years, a series of transactions carried out by BTG on behalf of PPLA's assets occurred, such as the units of the Bank ceasing to be traded and listed on the Alternext segment of NYSE Amsterdam, and moving to Euronext . It also happened that in 2017, two new Units programs began to be traded on B3.
By the end of the third quarter of 2017, the units and BDRs issued by the company changed from BBTG12 to PPLA11 as the new ticker symbol.
