MRV Engenharia e Participações S.A., known simply as MRV, is one of the largest companies in the construction industry in Brazil. The company, founded in 1979, is a publicly traded corporation and is listed on B3 under the ticker MRVE3.

Considered one of the largest construction companies in Latin America, MRV has the highest number of units and cities served among other construction companies in the country. In total, the Company has over 39 years of operation, focusing primarily on popular residential developments.
In general, the Company offers residential developments aimed at the housing program Minha Casa, Minha Vida, where the delivered units have affordable prices, with an average value of R$ 152 thousand.

Due to its focus, the company has built, over the years, a high degree of specialization, which has made MRV one of the largest in its field, offering developments with low production costs and differentiated quality.
The history of MRV began in 1979, when partners Rubens Menin Teixeira de Souza, Mário Lúcio Pinheiro Menin, and Veja Engenharia Ltda. decided to found MRV Serviços de Engenharia.
Initially, the company was founded in the city of Belo Horizonte, Minas Gerais, with the aim of boosting the construction industry and residential developments in the region.

After two years of establishment, Veiga Engenharia Ltda. decided to exit the Company, leaving the business under the control of partners Rubens and Mário Lúcio Menin. The following year, in 1981, MRV began delivering its first developments, namely, houses built in Belo Horizonte, as well as buildings in the same region.
After rapid growth in Belo Horizonte, partly influenced by the implementation of the Cruzado Plan in 1986, MRV took a giant step by expanding to other states. In 1994, for example, the Company already had its first store, still in Belo Horizonte, and the following year, it began construction of developments in Uberlândia, Minas Gerais.
Two years later, in 1996, the Company expanded its services to the city of Americana, in the state of São Paulo. With sponsorships in sports made by the company, in 1999, MRV further expanded by starting constructions in Londrina and Curitiba, cities in the south of the country.

With the arrival of the 2000s, the Company innovated by offering fixed installments on the financing of developments as a proposal to clients. This allowed the company's clients greater convenience and opportunity to invest and plan their constructions with the company.
In the same year, MRV launched its first investments in São Paulo and, three years later, began working with the Spazio and Village Lines.
