With operations in the technology sector, Desktop is a company focused on the supply and distribution of Brazilian fiber optic internet, primarily dedicating itself to the cities in the interior of São Paulo. Having individual consumers as its main clients, Desktop also offers products related to digital subscription TV, which can be sold in bundles with internet and telephone lines or individually.
By 2021, the company already had over 16,000 kilometers of fiber optic networks, more than 321,000 users in 53 cities located in the interior of the State of São Paulo, with 37 of these municipalities introduced only between 2020 and 2021.
Founded in 1997 by Denio Alves Lindo, initially as Desktop Online Informática, the company only became concretely known as it is today in July 2006, when it took its first steps to become a major internet distributor in the state of São Paulo.
Seeking to consolidate the internal activities of the company, SigmaBBS Comércio e Informações por Teleprocessamento Ltda was added to the company. In the following year, 60% of Desktop's capital was acquired by H.I.G., a global investment manager, resulting in greater growth in the company's development, which began to expand its activities more intensively within the state of São Paulo.
Such growth led the company to go public, conducting its Public Offering of Distribution in 2021. In the same year, Desktop also acquired other companies, namely:
