Carrefour Brazil Group – Atacadão S.A on the stock exchange, is a company in the retail and wholesale food segment, operating throughout the national territory. Its operations are directed towards the Brazilian hypermarket market and food service providers.

In addition to the sale of food products, Carrefour Group also operates with non-food products, being one of the most referenced companies in its sector. The Group is also prominent when it comes to credit card operations and consumer credit.
Carrefour Brazil also has a real estate division, where it operates in shopping centers and manages, in its own properties, the leasing of spaces in stores through Carrefour Property. Furthermore, the company has convenience stores, gas stations, and pharmacies.

The company has, in total, more than 660 points of sale distributed across more than 150 cities, both in the Federal District and in the 26 Brazilian states. In addition to sales points, Carrefour Group also sells through its website, where it has its own e-commerce and marketplace operations.
The history of Carrefour began in 1975, when the company's first hypermarket was founded in São Paulo. A few years later, in 1989, the company launched its first Carrefour credit card.
In 2007, the company – which was already considered one of the largest in the wholesale food segment – acquired the Atacadão chain, becoming a retail network with operations based on two business models.

Soon after, in 2012, to start operating with Carrefour Bank, the company established a partnership with Itaú Unibanco. Two years later, in 2014, the company's first express store was implemented in São Paulo.
Also in 2014, Peninsula Investment Company acquired 10% of Carrefour Brazil Group's total shares. The following year, the Group became the first food retailer to have a presence in all Brazilian states.
In 2016, the company launched Carrefour's non-food commerce and, the following year, food e-commerce was launched. Still in 2017, Carrefour Group conducted an IPO on B3, named Atacadão S.A on the Brazilian Stock Exchange.
In 2018, as a way to democratize access to food and services provided, Carrefour launched Act For Food, the same year that drive-thrus, click and collect were implemented, as well as more than 20 Atacadão stores.

Finally, in 2019, the Group inaugurated a new business unit, Carrefour eBusiness Brazil. In addition, it acquired a 49% stake in Ewally and formed a partnership with Super Nosso Group.
On the Stock Exchange, Carrefour Brazil Group is listed in the Novo Mercado segment, the highest level of governance at B3, with common shares (CRFB3) and fractional shares (CRFB3F).
