Brisanet is a Brazilian company focused on providing and distributing internet, cable TV, and telephony in the Northeast region of Brazil.
Operating in just over 250 cities in the Northeast, its focus is primarily in this region of the country, with a strong presence in the states of Ceará, its founding state, Rio Grande do Norte, Paraíba, Pernambuco, and Alagoas.
Currently, the company has over 14,400 km of routes used for internet distribution, as well as 150 Data Centers and more than 35,000 km of Fiber To The Home (FTTH) cables, which distribute internet speeds ranging from 50mb to 1Gb, in addition to TV and telephony services.
The company also operates through Agility Telecom, a franchise that has provided internet to over 140,000 customers.
Founded in 1998 in Pereiro, Ceará, by José Roberto Nogueira, Brisanet is a Brazilian telecommunications company focused primarily on providing internet access to regions with fewer access opportunities.
Initially, the company sold satellite dishes, then began importing and adapting equipment for internet via radio, which propelled the company to become one of the most relevant in the industry.
In the 2000s, with Brisanet's expansion, the company was already providing services to various cities located in Ceará.
Serving over 30,000 customers across 150 cities in the interior of northeastern Brazil, Brisanet was already considered the largest radio internet operator in the country by 2010. Thus, in the following year, the company launched its project in Pau dos Ferros, RN, meeting 100% of local demand with fiber optic technology, also starting to offer other products, such as TV transmission and fixed telephony using fiber optics.
In 2019, the company created Agility, a franchise structure where franchisees operate as small ISPs, contributing to the delivery of internet in more remote regions of Brazil. By 2021, Anatel defined Brisanet as the national broadband leader in customer satisfaction.
