A Azevedo & Travassos is a company in the engineering segment, which has been operating for over 85 years in the market as a service provider for the public and private sectors. Throughout its history, the company has been at the forefront of important infrastructure works, such as those of the Line 15-Silver of the São Paulo Metro.

Among the portfolio of products that the company offers are the construction of roadworks and urban roads, dams and airports, large structures (metro, viaducts, tunnels, and pipelines), hospitals, schools, industrial buildings, sanitation works, among others.
The business areas of Azevedo & Travassos include services for:
Heavy and civil construction;
Electro-electronic assembly;
Drilling and completion of wells;
Oil Exploration and Production;
Real estate development.
Civil construction has been part of the service portfolio since the company's foundation in 1922. Since then, Azevedo & Travassos has carried out numerous constructions, both for public and private entities. For example, roadworks, metros, railways, tunnels, dams, large urban roads, residential, commercial, industrial, and hospital buildings, among others, have been constructed.
On the other hand, electro-electronic assembly entered the company's service portfolio in 1972, starting with the construction of a gas pipeline for COMGÁS, located in Greater São Paulo. In this division, the company has already carried out numerous works, such as the construction and assembly of gas pipelines, slurry pipelines, oil pipelines, and the construction of urban networks in carbon steel and polyethylene, among others.
The activities of drilling and completion of wells began in 1984, when the company started providing services such as cleaning and restoring oil-producing wells, mining, gas, and water using rigs.

The company has its own equipment for executing drilling and workover contracts. In addition, it owns equipment and performs Horizontal Directional Drilling for the installation of pipelines in general, both in steel and polyethylene.
Oil exploration and production began in 1982 at the company, where Azevedo & Travassos started contracts with Petrobras in blocks located in the Potiguar Basin. In the region, the company identified four onshore fields and produced a cumulative volume of 1.8 MM barrels of oil, in addition to 75 MM m³ of gas.
Real estate development began with the foundation of IMOBEL S.A in 1974, a wholly-owned subsidiary of ATSA. The company's activities were focused on the civil construction market. However, with Azevedo's IPO in 1984, real estate activities were halted, resuming only in 2008.

Thus, in 2008, the company created Azevedo & Travassos Desenvolvimento Imobiliário Projeto I Ltda (ATDI-I). Additionally, in the second half of 2010, the company launched the Quinta do Bosque project. Currently, the company owns over 155,000 m² of its own land in the city of São Paulo.
Since its foundation in 1922, the company has undergone a series of changes and organizational restructuring. A large part of the changes occurred in 1960 when the company was transformed into a Limited Liability Company and shortly thereafter became a Corporation under the name Azevedo & Travassos S.A. Engenharia, Construções e Comércio.

In 1964, the company invested in new equipment and organized a new technical team led by engineer Bernardino Pimentel Mendes, who, in addition to taking control of the company, also worked as a subcontractor.
In 1974, IMOBEL S.A – Urbanizadora e Construtora (IMOBEL) was created to operate in the civil construction sector, either on its own or for third parties, buying, selling, and developing real estate, with IMOBEL being a wholly-owned subsidiary of Azevedo & Travassos.
Later, in 1984, the company's corporate name was changed to Azevedo & Travassos S.A., where the company became a publicly traded corporation and obtained its registration with the CVM on July 20, 1984. After the IPO, IMOBEL was spun off and ceased to be part of the company's share capital.
In 1980, Petrobras and COMGÁS hired Azevedo & Travassos to carry out the assembly of oil and gas pipelines, consolidating the company's operations in this regard. Additionally, after creating Azevedo & Travassos Petróleo S.A. (ATP) and Companhia Potiguar de Perfurações (CPP), the company began research and exploration activities for oil under risk contracts.
Later, in 1987, with the aim of developing and manufacturing parts and equipment for the Oil Industry, the company created Azevedo & Travassos Industrial S.A (ATI). In 1993, the company began operating in the market for deep well drilling for oil, water, salt, and mining after incorporating CPP.

In 1995, Azevedo & Travassos Industrial S.A. changed its corporate name to Azevedo & Travassos Engenharia Ltda (ATE). As a result, the corporate purpose was modified so that engineering services not originating from public agencies would be included. From 1999 onwards, all engineering services not originating from public agencies began to be performed by Azevedo & Travassos Engenharia Ltda.
With the arrival of the 2000s, ATSA sold its equity stake in Azevedo & Travassos Petróleo S.A to Paranapanema S.A. Also in 2000, the National Agency of Petroleum (ANP) authorized ATE as an operator of onshore oil fields.
In 2008, as a way to return to the real estate market – which had been interrupted since 1984 – the company created Azevedo & Travassos Desenvolvimento Imobiliário – Projeto I Ltda. (ATDI-I) and Azevedo & Travassos Desenvolvimento Imobiliário Projeto II Ltda. (ATDI-II), wholly-owned subsidiaries of ATE and special purpose entities.
Additionally, to operate in the real estate market, Azevedo & Travassos Desenvolvimento Imobiliário – Projeto III SPE Ltda. (ATDI-III) was created, and in 2016, Azevedo & Travassos Desenvolvimento Imobiliário -Projeto IV Ltda. (ATDI-IV), Special Purpose Entities, SPEs, subsidiaries of ATSA.

In 2016, the company began its participation in the market for maintenance of oil and gas production facilities. By March 2018, Azevedo & Travassos Desenvolvimento Imobiliário – Projeto IV Ltda. (ATDI-IV) was transformed into Azevedo & Travassos Infraestrutura Ltda. (AT- INFRA).
